Last summer, a Thursday night at Burr Ridge Village Center meant a concert on the green and dinner at Yolk or Wok n Fire if you didn't feel like Hampton Social. Both of those are gone. What replaced them is worth knowing before you walk over with a lawn chair.
What actually changed at 701 Village Center Drive
The Village Center's dining lineup turned over unusually fast between spring and summer 2026, and the churn concentrated in a specific corner of the plaza. The Bridewell Tavern opened Thursday evening at 525 Village Center Drive in Burr Ridge, taking the place of Yolk breakfast restaurant, which shut its doors a year ago after 2½ years. A few doors down, a new restaurant is planned for the old Wok n Fire space; according to village documents, Aria's Kitchen is moving into 590 Village Center Drive and is expected to open this month. Wok n Fire, which also has locations in St. Charles and Barrington, closed after 16 years.
The retail side moved too. Burr Ridge Village Center is welcoming new retail and dining additions to the plaza's retail lineup: Bridewell Tavern Kitchen & Bar is now open at 595 Village Center Drive, Coco Nail Bar also recently opened offering a modern, design-forward nail salon experience, and Kilwins Burr Ridge is set to open at the end of April; known for its handcrafted chocolates, fudge, and ice cream, Kilwins has built a following since its founding in 1947. Looking further out, Enclave Coworking is set to debut in fall 2026, bringing a new flexible workspace to Burr Ridge Village Center; the approximately 3,300-square-foot space will offer private offices, coworking memberships, and comfortable shared areas designed for productivity.

The operator story behind Bridewell
If Bridewell feels familiar the second you walk in, there is a reason. Owner John Mauro owns the restaurant with Peter Burdi. Bridewell has the same owners as Bar Poca Madre, which is also at the Village Center shopping center. Bar Poca Madre, a Mexican restaurant, opened in April 2024. The owners also operate Nabuki, a sushi restaurant, and Pronto Italian Sandwiches, both in Hinsdale, according to Bridewell's website.
That is four concepts across two suburbs from one team, and it means the Village Center's casual-tavern slot and its upscale-Mexican slot are now under the same roof. As for what Bridewell actually is on a menu: this new dining option will have a menu of traditional bar food with an "elevated spin," according to their website; many of the entrees will be seed oil-free, with both lunch and dinner options available, and a fine cocktail menu is planned as well alongside beer and wine.
Aria's Kitchen is a different pattern. The eatery, which has applied for a liquor license, plans to serve breakfast through dinner every day, according to village records. In a social media post last month, Bryan Sord identified himself as the owner of Aria's Kitchen, indicating it would open in June. A breakfast-through-dinner independent in the old Wok n Fire footprint gives the plaza back an all-day option, something it lost when Yolk closed.
The Thursday night pattern to actually plan around
The free concert series is the anchor of a Burr Ridge summer, and the 2026 lineup runs almost every Thursday from mid-June through the end of July. The 2026 lineup is June 11 Dancing Queen: An ABBA Salute, June 18 LowDown Brass Band, June 25 Dan Hampton & The Chicago 6 with opener Joe Bisceglia Band, July 9 Rhythm Makers Orchestra, July 16 Dustbowl Revival, July 23 The Tossers, July 30 Reckless. There is no July 2 show, and a rescheduled make-up date has been set for Thursday, August 13, 2026 from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.
A few mechanics worth knowing if you have not been in a couple of years:
- You may arrive as early as 6:00 pm to grab your spot and relax before the music begins. Seating is not provided, so please bring your own chairs, blankets, etc.
- The June 25 Dan Hampton show is a special extended performance: 6:30 to 7:00 pm Joe Bisceglia Band as opener, 7:30 to 9:00 pm Dan Hampton & The Chicago 6.
- The Green closes at 9:30 PM; as a courtesy to Village Center residents, all attendees should vacate the area by this time.
- No glass containers, and music not provided by the Village or Village Center is not permitted before, during, or after the performance.
- Do not rope off large seating areas; unauthorized roped-off areas will be removed.
The seating rule matters more than it reads. Locals who used to stake out a fifteen-foot rectangle by 5:45 for extended family are going to find their tape gone. Plan for chairs and one blanket, not a compound.
Where to eat before the 7:00 downbeat
Bridewell and Bar Poca Madre are the two shortest walks to the Green, which is a real advantage on a June evening when Hampton Social's patio fills by 5:30. Bridewell sits on the southwest side of the outdoor mall between Olive Tree Mediterranean and Starbucks. Bar Poca Madre is a few doors away in the same cluster.
For a sit-down before the music, Pella Signature at 720 Village Center Drive keeps a Mediterranean fine-dining option on the plaza, and Cooper's Hawk continues to draw the wine-club regulars. Hampton Social at 705 Village Center Drive runs a coastal menu with brunch service on weekend mornings, useful to remember for Saturdays when the concert-day crush is not a factor.
If you're bringing kids, arrive early to grab takeout meals from area restaurants and eat on the lawn. Kilwins for dessert closes the loop without moving the car. That was not an option last summer.
The Thursday-adjacent programming most people miss
The concert series gets the attention, but the Village Center has quietly filled in other weeknights. Dancing in the District runs July 6, 2026 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Midweek Movies has returned to the Green, with The Lion King scheduled for July 8, 2026 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Both are free and both draw a different crowd than the Thursday concerts, which is useful if the ABBA tribute night felt like the entire village had shown up.
